Abstract

The inclusion in the physical activity and the sport of people with visual functional diversity is an increasingly palpable reality thanks to the different public and private initiatives. This growing incorporation of people with visual functional diversity does not exempt from the fact that there are many barriers and impediments economic, organizational, personal and of other nature that limit participation in physical activities and more Specifically in the races by mountain. The purpose of this research project was the clarification of the different barriers and limitations encountered in the incorporation and realization of races by mountain by people with visual functional diversity, creating a basis for the elimination of barriers. The development of the research focused on the analysis of the barriers present in the sports practice and in the races by mountain, for the people with visual functional diversity. This analysis was carried out from a triple perspective: runners with visual functional diversity, guides and experts in the thematic. The process has been developed through semi-structured interviews with the agents involved and experts selected for their relationship with the field of mountain races. Among the participants were the corridors with visual functional diversity, were a total of 26 subjects (19 men and 7 women) 29 and 58 years; The guides who participated in the study were a total of 23 guides (18 men and 5 women), aged between 24 and 66 years and finally four experts from various entities related to the organization, management and careers accessible. The results include the lack of training of technicians and managers of the organization of race by Mountain in the area of attention to diversity. There was also a multitude of informative and dissemination aspects that made this type of events inaccessible if there were no outside help from guides, friends and family. The results obtained throughout the development of the whole project of study, has led to a series of conclusions and possibilities of inclusion of the collective with functional visual diversity in the races by mountain. The conclusions lead us to a series of recommended lines of work to public and private entities responsible for the organization of this type of tests in the natural environment and the elaboration of a guide of good practices and decalogue of inclusion in the sport in Andalusia. As well as a series of future lines of research that provide new possibilities of inclusion within the activities of natural environment of people with functional diversity.
