Abstract

The objective of the study is to determine the occurrence of neuromuscular fatigue caused by participation in a women’s rugby 7 tournament. 16 players performed a speed test in 40 meters before and after participating in three matches in a tournament. The movements made during the game were monitored by GPS. The results showed a loss of performance in the capacity of acceleration (Effect Size ES = 0,45 ± 0,60), and not so in the time in 40 m (ES = 0,23 ± 0,60) nor in the speed maximum (ES = -0,18 ± 0,61). As a conclusion, the fatigue caused by a female Rugby 7 tournament can be evaluated by conducting a speed test, especially in the first few meters.
