Abstract

This study looks into the evolution of complex syntax, here considered as an overall marker of academic language (CALP) in a bilingual highschool. The data provided are based on the narratives of a case study representing the whole sample over the research period, the aim of the research is testing the practicability of interclause diversity as an index of complexity (Nir&Berman:2010, Crespo Allende, Alvarado: 2013) as well as other textual markers (Meyer: 1985, Trimble: 1985 y Adam: 1992).
