Abstract
The chapter deals with three aspects of the political establishment that provoke criticism by the citizenship: the existence of political professionals, who make politics their only way of life, the excess of politicians in Spain compared to the percentage number of politicians/population of other countries, and the excessive duration of the performance of political office. The author provides reasons for a change in the legal treatment of the three aspects indicated and finally formulates a proposal.
