Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the direct and positive effect of Strategic Entrepreneurial Intentionality(SI) on the Performance of Sustainability Actions (SP), considering the potential positivemediating effect of the Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Entrepreneurial Climate (EC)dimensions on this relationship. The proposed model has been tested on a sample of 132companies belonging to the third sector, specifically social economy cooperative enterprises, through the multivariate method of structural equations Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) andfuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fs-QCA) to examine the confluence of factors to obtainhigh SP. The results confirm the proposed hypotheses, evidencing the positive effect of SI onSP and the relevance of the mediating effect of EO and CE. The theoretical and practicalimplications of this work are also important. On the one hand, they will enable the design ofmore sustainable companies by implementing strategic actions of an entrepreneurial nature. Onthe other hand, the theoretical implications are also important. Although literature studies theeffect of strategic intentionality on organizational results, the same does not occur in the case ofSP, as well as the positive mediating effect of other realities such as EO and CE.
