Abstract

The weakening of liberal democracies in the 21st century is a source of multiple discussions, not only academic. The debate is being approached from different factors, emphasizing different symptoms and, consequently, the diagnoses are multiple. Comparisons with the beginning of the 20th century have not been lacking in these attempts to clarify causes and consequences of the gradual loss of reliability in our liberal democracies, and the rise of extreme right-wing movements and parties as a possible reaction to the different pandemic capitalist crises and needs of capitalism. I am not referring now to the COVID-19 health pandemic but to the ever shorter distance between the phases of capitalist crises. Searching for alternatives of action for the construction of a better world becomes a necessity, with the work presented here we will try to humbly contribute to the debate.
