Abstract
The present study aims to know through a methodology of meta-analytic research, methodological development level of academic research of CSR In this sense, a descriptive analysis, and meta-analytic comparison of major empirical research on social responsibility in organizations. From a population of over 1100 articles on social responsibility, 118 articles are selected empirical nature that have been published from 1975 to 2011. These items are subjected to descriptive statistical analysis to characterize the level of methodological and thematic development of such research and identify and state of empirical research on corporate social responsibility.
