Resumen

La elaboración de tipologías es un paso previo para un mejor análisis de la ocupación del tiempo libre y el establecimiento de medidas colectivas que incidan en el desarrollo de un estilo de vida saludable entre los jóvenes. La población objeto de estudio ha estado constituida por 1829 adolescentes de tres provincias. Hemos utilizado el cuestionario HBSC y el análisis de cluster lo que nos ha permitido reconocer la existencia de dos grupos diferentes en lo que a la ocupación del tiempo libre se refiere. Estos grupos se relacionan con variables sociodemográficas como son el ciclo educativo y el lugar de residencia. Los adolescentes que realizan actividades físicas organizadas no presentan diferencias con los otros jóvenes en lo que se refiere al consumo de televisión, tiempo de estudio y uso de ordenador. Por el contrario, realizan más actividad física en un día laboral que los otros adolescentes.
