Resumo

In this study the relations among the style of family socialization, the family sports climate, the peers sports climate, the motivation towards the sports practice and the physical self-concept in teenagers are analysed. The sample is constituted by 105 family units integrated y father, mother and son or daughter, with a whole of 305 subjects. The results show that whereas the family sports climate and the peers sports climate an effect on the motivation towards the sports practice in boys, but in the girls the above mentioned effects have not been situated, which indicates that the motivation towards the sports practice has different sources in case of the girls. Our results have showed that the model has a suitable adjustment and explains 50 % of the variance of the physical self-concept. On the other hand, we are observed four differences depending of the teenagers gender: The relation between the physical capacity and the social self-concept, in the women, is not significant. The relation between the family sports climate and the social self-concept only is significant in the males. The relation between the family sports climate and the peers sports climate is major in case of the women. In the group of the males, the family sports climate and peers sports climate show relation with the motivation towards the sports practice. But, in the girls, these relation is not related significantly.
