Abstract
In this article it is analyzed the evolution of social support and its significance in the adolescence adjustment. A sample of 1002 adolescents whose ages range from 12 to 20 years was used. The results show a decrease of the perception of parents’ support in the middle adolescence, at the same time that the perception of support from the couple is increased. Nevertheless, a bigger perception of parents support is related to a smaller depressive symptomatology and smaller substance consumption during the adolescence. It is also analyzed the gender differences and the correlation between the perception of parents’ support and the perception of support of the best friend as well as of girl/ boyfriend support.
