Relaciones entre la reputación social y la agresión relacional en la adolescencia

Resumen

En el presente estudio ex post facto se han analizado las relaciones entre la reputación social del adolescente –real e ideal- y la agresión relacional entre iguales adolescentes. La muestra estuvo formada por 1.319 adolescentes de edades comprendidas entre los 11 y los 16 años. Se ha utilizado un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales para analizar el efecto directo e indirecto de la reputación social (real e ideal) en la agresión relacional. Los resultados indicaron que la reputación social estaba relacionada tanto directa como indirectamente con la agresión relacional. Se encontró una relación negativa directa entre la reputación social real y la agresión relacional, y una relación positiva directa entre la reputación social ideal y la agresión relacional. Por otra parte, los datos sugirieron que la soledad y la satisfacción con la vida mediaban la relación entre la reputación social real e ideal y la agresión relacional. Finalmente, se discutieron estos resultados y sus implicaciones.
