Abstract

A lot of papers have been written about generation of trust and its influence on the organizational behaviour. Normally, papers study this topic carry out on samples of private companies in which the exchange relationship has a nature more economic than social. Nevertheless, there are few studies conducted in contexts where the social relations are more important than economic aspects. With the intention to contribute filing this gap of organizational literature, we try to verify in this paper if variables that generate trust and influence on organizational behaviour in contexts of economic exchange have a similar behaviour in a context such us university in which the social issues prevails on the economic aspects. To this end, we analyse in this context trust antecedents extracted from studies carry out on private companies like the communication effectiveness, empowerment and the shared values. Also, as consequences we studied the Organizational Citizen Behaviour (OCB) and the intention to remain in the organization. Finally, we analyzed the trust mediator role between both groups of variables: antecedents and consequences.
