Abstract

Migrations are a classical topic in Economic History especially in relation to labour factor mobility during First Globalization (1860-1913). This paper describes and presents results for a teaching experience about the topic. Using migration processes as case of analysis, students had to produce audiovisual work. The teaching activity pursued four major objectives: encourage team work, develop comparative analysis, stimulate critical thought and generate a respectful and empathize atmosphere. Results were extremely positive highlighting work-groups coordination and general enthusiasm. Aspects less appreciated by the students were additional bibliography search and editing.
