Resumen

This paper approaches a systematic analysis of the most relevant actions in men's social movements within the spanish context, and how these have contributed to the outreach of the struggle for gender equality. Also, it explores the core issues that have been addressed by these social movements. A movement that, despite the interest, it usually is taken for granted in research, in academic enviroments, and also in the professional practice that is done from a gender perspective, and hampered by the difficulty of the Academic Department of conceiving man as a subject of study, a concept that includes the historical and the gender perspective throughout its evoving definition.
