Abstract
From a comparative perspective and anthropological research, this article explores the experience of creation and reproduction of iden-tity among people of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru who live in areas located in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia and the Region of Murcia. Its objective is to offer an approximation, although preliminary, of the processes carried out by these people to main-tain their traditions, mainly expressed in parties and celebrations in different types. The aim is to show the different and varied modes of participation of its protagonists, but also to offer elements that help to understand how these people could be resolving the tensions that arise when trying to maintain their multiple identities that diffe-rentiate them at the individual and collective level while at the same time they are compelled to subsume into broader identifications such as “Latinos” in contexts of of globalizing uniformization and growing rejection of foreign “immigrants” from impoverished countries.
