Resumo
Public space plays a main role in the morphological, functional, social and perceptual dimensions of the city. So it could provide a particular approach to the debate on urban landscapes and "heritagisation" processess. This contribution begins with a brief review of intersection among these concepcts in order to emphasize those arguments from wich new discussion topics could be emerged, considering some difficulties inherent in scales or qualities of public space. These topics will be illustrated by two expamples: the historial river landscapes of Seville and its spaces and places, and the central squares of the bourgeois area of Cádiz..
