Abstract

The subject of History of Labor Relations can be addressed from different approaches, from those related to social or political history, to those based on the work factor perspective of neoclassical economics. The latter is the option adopted to address the subject within the Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources at the University of Granada. Nevertheless, we believe that it is necessary to provide a counterpoint to the excessively economist interpretation of the evolution of capitalist societies that we have observed in the theoretical classes. For this reason, the practical part of the subject has a different orientation: students are encouraged to work, through the realization of conceptual maps and slide presentations, on a series of selected texts that include different schools of thought and sensibilities, in order to expose and discuss them in the classroom. In this way, they will be able to better understand the complexity of social phenomena and the need to develop their own criteria in the light of reasoned arguments.
