Résumé

With this article we will deal with a question which, together with the formation of teachers, seems to us of unquestionable relevance: the formation for an intercultural citizenship. We are aware that at present the construction of citizenship can be tackled from varied disciplines and approaches. We are going to do it from the educational dimension, admitting the fact that many of the existing programs and initiatives are not viable if such approaches are not accompanied with social and political changes. In this particular work, we are going to point out some socio-cultural settings which force us to propose the issue on intercultural citizenship. We are also going to analyze the responses which are showing up from the classrooms to this new reality. The main objective of this article is to present some educational designs for the formation of teachers who play a significant and special role in our present time.
