Abstract
Organizations attempt to enhance their performance developing strategies focused on new, differentiate and reduced cost services. However, no always organizations achieve that performance enhancement. The basic hypothesis of this paper is that a strategy enhances organizational performance when it is managed by certain top management teams, who are responsible of the strategic management. Through a questionnaire sent to top managers in Spanish Public Hospitals, we analyze the role of top management teams in the relationship between strategy and organizational performance. The findings show the importance of top management teams¿ experience and education in strategy management and their moderator effect on organizational performance.
