Abstract
A comparative study was performed between the Iberian endemic Carex lainzii Luceño, E. Rico & T. Romero and the species C. idaea Greuter, Mathäs & Risse and C. troodi Turrill, the latter described from Crete and Cyprus, respectively. The present study was focussed on macro- and micromorphological features. Results indícate that C. idaea is just a synonym of C. troodi, and the autonomy of C. lainzii as a species is further supported.
