Resumo

The development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has shaped our society, and its usage is starring most of the activities that take place in our daily life. The widespread use of ICT has also originated some criticism that warns against the risks and danger of improper utilization that it can generate, especially among the youths and adolescents who have been born in a time when digital technologies already exist, and have had access to them since their childhood. It can be considered that there are certain social factors (failure in socialization, lack or loss of affection, weak family cohesion�) and personal ones (age, personal characteristics, vulnerability, personal dissatisfaction�) that make a per-son more likely to suffer from addiction to the ICT. In general, the risks that generate the greatest concern are those of social nature, such as those that can have a strong impact in a person�s social, emotional or physical life. Highlighting, the Internet as the more liable technology to generate addictive behaviors, for most of researchers. Therefore, in response to these problems, different actions and initiatives arise from different areas, public and private, to prevent the occurrence of risks in the use of the ICT, and, specifically, in the use of the Internet.
