Abstract

Increased competition in local markets and the awakening to a global vision of business (among several factors), have led to more and more companies to seek and find new markets. To that end, we present a tool to identify the potential of prospective countries, considering country risk, commercial risk, economic stability, etc. Results are based on a series of indicators used by Spain´s Secretary of State for Tourism from which several attractive markets for companies from Andalusia, Spain were studied, but the methodology can be adapted and extrapolated to any company seeking new markets, as well as to public agencies promoting internationalization. Also, the methodology is valid for future studies evaluating countries as export destinations.
