Resumen

Las actividades de inversión juegan un importante papel en toda organización económica. Es por ello que el problema de la selección y planificación temporal de una cartera de proyectos constituye una de las principales tareas directivas necesarias para asegurar la supervivencia de cualquier organización/empresa. Para que se realice una buena selección o distribución de los recursos entre un conjunto de proyectos candidatos, de acuerdo con la restricción presupuestaria existente, el proceso de decisión tiene que tener en cuenta una serie de aspectos, entre los que destacan: la multiplicidad de objetivos y restricciones, el factor tiempo y las posibles relaciones de dependencia entre proyectos (sinergias, precedencia, complementariedad, etc.). En este estudio, analizamos en profundidad y de manera separada las aportaciones más importantes que en este campo de la selección de proyectos han ido realizando los principales autores, describiendo la evolución experimentada en el tratamiento de esos aspectos y mostrando las ventajas e inconvenientes de las distintas aproximaciones. Finalmente, presentamos nuestra propia propuesta: un modelo flexible que considera todos aquellos aspectos simultáneamente, y que permite resolver el problema de selección y planificación temporal de una cartera de proyectos para cualquier periodo de tiempo considerado y para cualquier tipo de organización.
