Abstract

Neronism was a phenomenon in which the middle-class public of the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, took gloomy pleasure in reading about violence against women in paperback novels and accident and crime reports. In this paper, we show how the Neronism contributed to the «visibilisation» process of violence against women.
