Resumen

En el presente trabajo se ofrece una revisión sobre el fenómeno de la sumisión química, que consiste en la administración de sustancias químicas a un sujeto, sin su consentimiento, con fi nes delictivos. La lista de sustancias utilizadas es larga e incluye medicamentos, principalmente benzodiacepinas, drogas de abuso y etanol. La detección de las mencionadas sustancias en los fl uidos biológicos es difícil, ya que en su mayoría tienen un tiempo de acción corto y producen amnesia en la víctima, lo que causa que la denuncia se presente tarde. La obtención de evidencias forenses en este tipo de delitos supone un importante reto para el toxicólogo forense. Por ello, existen normas de recogida de muestras publicadas por asociaciones de toxicólogos forenses. Se proporciona, además, una perspectiva legal en España y la Unión Europea y se describen los casos medicolegales más llamativos.
