This paper focuses on the morpho-syntactic structure of the adverbial expressions that begin with the preposition de. The material is taken from two dictionaries: one general dictionary, the DRAE and one phraseological dictionary, the Diccionario de locuciones y expresiones del español. Once identified all the relevant structures, we have established a functional pattern, which has made it possible to observe which structures are the productive ones, and can be used as a basis for new examples, and which are less efficient patterns when talking about reproduction and the creation of new units.
