In this paper we analyze the importance of philately in the analysis of traditional recreational demonstrations currently practiced as a means of entertainment, fun, entertainment and leisure. The act of collecting, observing and studying a stamp (postmark), allows us to make an objective and comprehensive understanding of the customs, habits, beliefs, lifestyles, etc., in a particular society. Therefore, the stamps represent a valuable historical document and ultimately an encyclopedia in miniature, which is reflected playful culture of a people. Philately is an “auxiliary science” of history, which over time has been specializing in the issues made in this specialization has emerged thematic philately, namely the collection of stamps with the image or on the ground or suggesting the design intent. Finally, we delve into the analysis of stamps issued by the Brazilian postal service in relation to traditional games.
