Abstract

This paper analyses the reasons that have led to a Spanish listed company to the most important Pre-insolvency proceedings in the history. For this study, analytical techniques and prediction of corporate bankruptcy models have been applied. The information is obtained from SABI database. In this study we can highlight how a profitable company puts at risk its survival by implementing an investment strategy in a new business model that, although a priori seemed profitable, environment variables did not behave as expected and the return of investment was lower than expected. The paper concludes that companies should be particularly cautious to new business and have to use tools that help you detect any alarm situation and avoid a possible insolvency.
