In this paper we study feminine presence in Sevillian confraternities at the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Early Modern Period. These institutions were a very important way of participation of laypersons in Church's life and popular religiousness. Women could also take part in them and their presence was very important too. In many cases confraternities were the only way for them to express their personal devotions. We study the different types of feminine participation in brother-hoods, their admission and their presence in cults and charitable actions.
