Abstract

In recent years has highlighted the importance of evidence-based practice is for all the sciences, but especially for those who combine professional practice with the generation of knowledge, like medicine, psychology, Social Work and others. This article focuses on the development in the last decade has experienced Social Work up to develop the so-called Social Work Evidence-Based, but it haven´t a reflection on the training of social workers from the academy. The meta-analysis is a specific way like Social Work Evidence-Based has been able to expand. Meta-analysis is a scientific procedure which helps the development of the connection between practice and research. Thus the use of meta-analysis assumes a development for Social Work Evidence-Based, and therefore, one's own scientific dimension of social work. In the deepening of this relationship between metaanalysis and scientific development of social work, described how we can apply meta-analyzes experiences from Social Work, deepening its methodology, and using by example of meta-analysis research and produced from this discipline. The use of meta-analysis in the specific teaching of discipline as an element of educational innovation is proposed.
