Crisis, austeridad y transformaciones en las desigualdades de género

Resumen

Las crisis, y sobre todo las políticas para combatirlas, afectan de manera desigual a las personas, también en función de su género. Aunque cada crisis es diferente, estudios sobre crisis precedentes arrojan tres pautas históricas: intensificación del trabajo de las mujeres, recuperación más tardía del empleo femenino y su precarización, y retrocesos en igualdad. Este artículo examina estos impactos –que se cumplen– para el caso español en la crisis de 2008- 2014, así como algunos elementos propios del actual momento histórico, que pueden ofrecer un contrapeso a los procesos de refamiliarización de los cuidados e individualización del riesgo asociados a la austeridad, como la herencia de las políticas de igualdad, el sorpasso educativo de las mujeres, la continuada desindustrialización y la precarización laboral generalizada.
