Autoconcepto físico e intencionalidad para ser físicamente activo en los participantes del programa escuelas deportivas

Resumen

The aim of this study was to observe changes on physical self-concept and intentions to be physically active during the implementation of the Sport Schools program (Andalusian Government). In this study participated 1736 Andalusian students of secondary education (12-16 years; 354 participated in the program, 1384 of them not). Physical SelfConcept Questionnaire (PSQ) and Measure of Intention to be Physically Active (MIFA) were used. Pre-post measurement was realized. The participants showed a physical self-concept more positive and had higher intentions to be physically active (p = .001 in boys and p < .001 for girls) before of program start than their peers who did not attend it. Girls' perceptions of physical condition improved significantly at the end of the program (p = .010). In conclusion, the participants in the program were characterized by assess positively their physical selfconcept and by their high intentions to be physically active. After the application of the program, it is observed an improved of physical perceptions in girl who participated in the program.
