Abstract
In the last thirty years has developed rural tourism in Spain. The Balearic Islands have developed a rural tourism with characteristics different from other regions, both supply and demand. Comparing, we see that the demand in Spain is characterized by performing mostly Spanish weekend getaways, predominantly in summer and bridges. While in the case of Baleares, the demand shows a significant predominance of foreigners, mainly Germans, who remain five days on average in the islands, mainly between April and October.
