Resum

This article focuses on the Irish author Eva Gore-Booth, whose social concerns as an activist and suffragist -and her struggle for working women’s rights- are echoed in her literary writings. Her poems, by means of symbols, legends and reminiscences of the Celtic folklore and classical mythology, reflect the transgressive role models that she admires, in an unceasing freedom chant. Among her vindications, she claims civil disobedience, a new interpretation of feminine images, and the visibility of female homosexuality, as well as she challenges the gender roles imposed by a patriarchal society. Although her voice has been silenced for a long time, this article aims to shed some light over the figure of Eva Gore-Booth, showing her as the eternal rebel that she ever was.
