Abstract

Gender-based violence is a social problem that, despite having been present throughout history, is currently increasing visibility and awareness of the importance of working on it, as it is not clear that society, and more specifically adolescents, have the necessary egalitarian attitudes that could function as a protection factor against gender-based violence. In this study End of Degree has done a research on the perception that the adolescent population of two educational centers of Dos Hermanas (Seville) has with respect to the equality and the relationships, in order that their results allow to focus the need to elaborate works of prevention and intervention for eradicate gender-based violence. For its realization, 215 questionnaires were carried out by the students of the 2nd and 4th ESO of these centers, in addition to two interviews with educational professionals. Among the main results obtained from these instruments, there is a notable lack of information and knowledge on the concept of gender-based violence, a high degree of embrace of sexist beliefs and its capacity to detect indicators of abuse.
