Résumé

Currently the second most common and least researched problem in swimming is breaststroke knee pain. The high demands, the excessive repetition mechanism in the lower limbs and poor technique, generate pain and injury in the middle portion of the knee. Within the group of injuries, joint pain in the lateral patellofemoral zone, patellar tendinopathy and pain in the proximal third of the internal lateral ligament (LLI) stand out, the latter being considered one of the most affected in this style. The purpose of the present work has been to establish the most frequent injuries in the middle zone of the knee and to identify risk factors, in order to avoid or diminish the pain and the appearance of injuries.
