Resumen

This work wants to approach the system of accreditation and access to public places of teaching and research staff in to the Spanish university system (PDI). The current access process is difficult and today provides low job security. In some cases the university career of a professor is limited due to external contingencies to the institution. The cuts due to the Spanish economic situation create a dissatisfied and disoriented teachers. The national and regional accreditation system is independent of the few places that are offered and in many cases it is submitted to the personal criteria of the commission’s members. After indicating the different figures of teaching staff researcher I will advance some proposals that from my point of view should be considered to improve the Spanish university system.
