Abstract

Co-responsibility in the rights of reconciliation of work and family life has been a common demand from various sectors for the achievement of gender equality. It is, from the modifications introduced by RD-law 6/2019, of March 1, on the rights to reconcile the work and family life of the worker, and specifically, on the suspension of the employment contract by birth and by adoption and fostering when a firm step has been taken to achieve co-responsibility between parents. Also performing equal treatment of all of them without distinguishing by the way in which they have acquired the status of parent. However, the legal requirements for their exercise may impose in practice some limits for the enjoyment of such rights by parents.
