Abstract

Summary During the last decade, the Intercultural Competence (IC) has become a key element to understand better those who are culturally from us. All areas of knowledge must promote its development, especially education. In this vein, undergraduate programs that specialized in the teacher education, particularly those in foreign languages, should include this component all along their curriculum. This research shows the results of the application of a series of activities to develop IC in a group of students from a BA in bilingualism at a private university in Bogota (Colombia). The result show that the activities had a positive impact in the perception students had about their IC, especially in the attitudes component. Based on this, it is suggested to include new topics in further workshops and to use other data collection instruments that bring different perspectives to the findings reported here.
