Abstract
The translation of comics is still unknown among editing professionals and betweenresearchers, despite the interest it arouses among them. This is due in part to the fact that there is no theory that fits the specificity of comic translation into translation studies in order toexplain its characteristics and the challenge it entails. The present article does not attempt toenumerate the traits and challenges that this specialty implies within the translation, only theparadigmatic cases: the prefabricated orality and the interrelation of codes. We add a definitionof comics as a previous step because we want to cover a lack that we have observed in the fewstudies on this particular and that, for that reason, has lacked the necessary rigor
