The present article raises an approach to the personal artistic duality of J.K Huysmans in Certains, work that gathers "some" reviews of critic of art elevated to the literary category by the author. On the one hand, we will analyze how the interdisciplinary value of the arts in the last years of 19th century, causes that it is difficult to separate his facet of novelist and art critic, tendencies that sublie and converge in all his production. On the other hand, we will study how our author speaks about himself and reflects the personal process in which he is thanks to his pictorial taste. Therefore, in this previous stage to the conversion to the catholicism in which "purity" against "lust", we will see like Moreau, Degas, Whistler, Rops, Redon, Millet, Delacroix, Ingrès, Kettle, etc speak to us of a Huysmans who looks for the quintessence that comes off the pictures because he is eager for an ideal eitherPERSONAL for sacred or profane character.
