Resumo
The present article focuses on the life of Maria Guadalupe de Lencastre, the 6th duchess of Aveiro. The duchess was well known at her time for her extraordinary culture and her support to the Catholic missions, but this work aims to explore mainly the difficulties she faced in order to protect her House and her rights as an exiled Portuguese noblewoman in Madrid after the Restauraçao.
