Resumo
Paroemias are phraseological utterances that have been studied since early times because of the important meanings and connotations they convey. Thus, numerous collections of proverbs have been compiled with varying extension, selection criteria and presentation forms. Today, new technologies allow for more complete and useful information, such as the Refranero multilingüe by the Spanish Instituto Cervantes, which builds up an extensive collection of proverbs in fourteen languages. The present work explores the proverbs in German and Spanish around the topics of wine and vineyards, with a view to assess their relevance and usefulness for intercultural studies, language-learning and specially translation.
