Abstract

Focuses on the oral tradition compiled through interviews conducted by the author from 2004 to 2020. This book is made up of an Introductory Essay, two Chapters and a section of Annexes. The essay exposes the relation between orality and intangible cultural heritage; part of the history of the municipality and the complex way in which the multicultural has been experiencd is addressed, as well as the need for the intracultural and intercultural to rescue, value and disseminate the oral tradition and establish a respectful dialogue with other cultures. In addition, the essay identifies that the oral tradition of the municipality of Atoyatempan can be classified into: myths, legends, rites, traditions, customs and historical stories. In the two chapters is the transcription of the compiled oral tradition: I. Atoyatempan. History, customs, rituals & traditions and II. Atoyatempan between myths & legends. Finally, there is the annex section that contains the Glossary of Nahuatl words used in the municipality and the Index of Informants & Collaborators.
