Résumé
Through the analysis of the travel book "Península pentagonal : la España antirromántica" written by the Italian art critic Mario Praz after his visit to the country in 1926- this paper aims to articulate his unique vision of the history of Spanish architectural decoration. Drawing from monotony, Praz links the Alhambra to illuminated books, the plateresque style to the craft of goldsmiths, and the churrigueresque of Granada Charterhouse to the work of the luxury pastry-cooks.
