Resum

e-procurement systems started to become popular at the end of the nineties and early this decade as electronic procurement systems where the cost-benefit ratio makes them very convenient according to manufacturers and companies based software. Among the implementations of information systems, there are successful and failure cases. In this ar ticle it is argued that in many of the failure cases, the source of their problems has been not to have a proper reflection on the real costs and benefits and not to know in advance the products and services that should be managed through the system and those that should not. The authors propose a model developed by themselves for assessing the e-procurement project whose main objective is to analyze the products and services that may be manage through the system in order to find those that maximize savings.
