Abstract
Los virus son agentes infecciosos que causan unas dos millones de muertes cada año. El uso de una vacuna no siempre es viable, por lo que los tratamientos antivirales son una alternativa necesaria para frenar estos patógenos, aunque pueden presentar efectos secundarios inevitables en células y tejidos sanos. Las nanopartículas tienen el potencial para convertirse en antivirales seguros y eficaces, pero para ello es importante el uso de variantes no tóxicas y el desarrollo de procesos de síntesis con un impacto medioambiental reducido.
