Perfil antropométrico y somatotipo entre posiciones de juego en jugadores de fútbol americano universitarios mexicanos

Resumen

El objetivo de este estudio fue describir el perfil antropométrico y somatotipo de jugadores de fútbol americano universitarios mexicanos, y examinarlo acorde a la posición de juego. Participaron 90 jugadores, clasificándolos en posición de linieros (n=28), jugadores de gran habilidad (n=15) y jugadores de habilidad (n=47). Se les realizaron mediciones antropométricas de básicas, pliegues cutáneos, perímetros y diámetros óseos, para obtener el peso corporal, índice de masa corporal (IMC), composición corporal (masa grasa, magra y musculo), además del somatotipo (endomorfía, mesomorfía y ectomorfía). Los linieros arrojaron un mayor peso corporal, IMC y composición corporal que las demás posiciones (p ≤ .05). En el somatotipo, las tres posiciones presentaron un biotipo de meso-endomorfico, logrando una moderada adiposidad y un alto desarrollo músculo-esquelética. A pesar de obtener una musculatura bastante elevada, no cumplen con la referencia de nivel profesional y universitario, además, mostraron tener problemas de sobrepeso y obesidad.
