Abstract

Racism has traditionally been decisive when legitimating exclusions. Its condition of social, cultural and economic way of domination has allowed presenting Other's inequalities as immovable realities, though not unavoidable, per natura. This has been the way in which discriminatory dogmas has been established in different times and places - in different societies - throughout history. This article is about those dogmas and its impact in the Latin American imagery. This article is based on the work of those authors and personalities who, by means of their relevant acts or transcendence, have resulted in the conformation of this imagery or its opposition.
