This work deals with the ideas presented in M. Sandel’s book «The Tyranny of merit». The author formulates, in a clear and convincing way, the drawbacks of the meritocracy as a device of social sorting, focusing on higher education. The text is quite narrow minded, self-referential and does not provide answers to the questions pur forward. The discourse is mostly moralist and deeply conservative.
